IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is a globally recognized English language proficiency test that is accepted by universities, employers, and governments around the world. It is designed to assess the language ability of non-native English speakers who need to study or work where English is the language of communication.
There are two versions of the IELTS test: IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training. The IELTS Academic test is for people who want to study at university or pursue a professional qualification, while the IELTS General Training test is for people who want to work, train, or study at a lower level. Both tests assess the four language skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking.

During the IELTS listening test, test takers are given a series of audio recordings and asked to answer a series of multiple-choice questions based on the recordings. The recordings are taken from a variety of sources, including conversations, lectures, and news programs, and cover a range of topics.
There are three different versions of the IELTS listening test:
- Academic
- General Training, and
- General Training for the UKVI.
The Academic version is intended for test takers who want to study or work in an academic setting, while the General Training version is intended for test takers who want to work, train, or study at a secondary education level.
